Omito Salewa Ajamu McKinney

Omitowade Salewa Ajamu is a lifetime priestess of Yemoja, raised in the Aftican ancestral spirutual tradition of the Yoruba. Along with the ordinary demands for drumming and chanting which are part of her priesthood Omito has especially developed her skill as an African dancer and fine arts painter, to further reveal the depth of her cultural heritage. Pieces by her are hanging in several institutions from South Florida to South Carolina. She has long given workshops in these arts all over the US and Jamaica. When not teaching or doing spiritual work, Omito spends time with her 4-year-old daughter who teachers her refinements of dance guided by a spirit source beyond this world.

African Dance

Dancing us into awareness, Omito will illustrate in movement some of the differences between secular African dance and dances done specifically to honor each of three goddesses or "orisha" of the Yoruba tradition: Oya, Yemoja and Osun. She will then demostrate traditional movements and costumes and share with us the symbolic meaning involved in these steps, gestures and African outfits. At the end she will model and make available a few traditional dance head wraps (gele) and hip wraps (lapa) for those who might like to buy a set.

Breathwork

When we are not able to fully experience our feelings in life, our memories, emotions, fears, pleasures, joys, and all other feelings are stored in the body on a cellular level. We were born breathing from the diaphragm and have learned how to breath incorrectly...most of us through our chest. Through spending time consciously focusing on diaprhagmic breathing, the cells begin to vibrate and the stickiness of stored emotion detaches and purges, giving the body it's authentic emotional release. There is a tendency to feel an amazing burst of endorphin-like energy after such a release. Behind the illusion always lies the truth of our spirit; peace, love, and bliss.

Lacey Nagy is Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist with breathwork training who will be facilitating the group in a dyad breathwork session. This is a safe space where you can discover, feel, and let go of any issue that is causing you to feel limited in your life. Those of you who are happy and content with life and just want to experience this session to energize your chi are welcome as well. Come by yourself or with a partner/friend and hold the space while each gets to experience a trance-like state of rhythmic breath that unfolds the mind and body and uplifts the soul.

Integrated Equine Bodywork

An intuitive, evolving harmonized mix of Masterson Method, Stretching, Accupressure, Cranio-Sacral, Reiki and Massage directed primarily by what the horse communicates to me that she needs through her body language. I will do an extensive demo on Flashes mare Chinamoon. If you are a horse lover or want to work on animals this will be a fascinating experience.

Asho Luna

Asho Luna has been a humble servant of the Goddess for over 10 years. I have been leading guided meditations for 2 years. I am a kitchen witch and healer. I am also a student on the Qadishtu path. I am considering the Morrigan my trusted guide, and am in awe of what she has done in my life thus far.

Meditative Journey to the Inner Self

We will be taking a journey to the wonders of our inner selves. During this process we can find wisdom to take back to our everyday lives. This will be a wondrous opportunity to connect to something you may have lost, or need to discover.

For the workshop you will only need to bring a chair or blanket to use while meditating, and yourself. Be prepared to experience something great, and if you so desire, to share what you have found.
